Kicking off my first blog here.
First blog ever!
Happy to be in the company of friends.
So here goes...
Blogging... blogging about?...
Hmm... freedom to blog for now... but freedoms getting stripped away?
There we go! A worthy topic.
I've never considered myself interested in politics, but lately it just seems surreal what some of these politicians are cooking up in Washington. For the first time in our nation's history, half of the States are actually filing and passing bills that are claiming their individual sovereignty from the Federal government. Is that weird or what?? (Inquire to see the actual bill numbers and website links, as I can assure you that they are REAL legislature, not just some conspiracy article)
Basically we have the States of the Union drawing a line in the sand against the Federal government, asking them to please cease and desist on passing laws that go against the Constitution without asking permission from the People.
After all, the People empower the States that empower the Federal government, right?
Seems like a lot of people have forgotten that lately...
Here's one thing that has me furious lately.
Fact: The last bailout granted a total sum of $840 billion in the form of a Stimulus Bill
Fact: The last bailout bill was approximately 1000 pages total.
Fact: Congress had 13 hours to read the final version of the bailout bill before it was passed
Fact: Even if Congress did read the ENTIRE bailout bill in 13 hours that equates to about 1.28 pages read per minute for 13 hours straight...
Fact: This was the largest financial bailout passed in US history and it was passed in record time
Does anyone else get a little nervous when they start reading between the lines of stories like these? Am I the only one worried about the future of our country?
Not asking anyone to choose a side, but at least stop and think outside of the box.
Just because Washington says something "needs to be done" doesn't necessarily mean it is the right thing to do. History repeats itself through bad mistakes that are allowed to be repeated...
That's all for now, and again happy to be here and looking forward to reading some good blogging!! :)
